Brownwood After Dark

My Photography Club went to Brownwood Town Square in The Villages last evening to try our hand at night photography.

The adventure gave me some new challenges as I very seldom shoot in manual mode — or for that matter use my tripod.  But it was fun trying to guess the proper shutter speeds to get some light trails and motion blur.

Variegated Ginger

Even though I see these plants all the time around The Villages, it was only a couple of days ago that I found out the name.  (Thanks, Barbara).  Really nothing special about them except once a year they give us these interesting flowers.

Sammi

I meet the most interesting dogs when I’m out with my camera.  Sammi is a Wheaten Terrier and quite the girl.

Summer Crepes

Here in The Villages, the crepe myrtles have gone crazy with color.  These trees with their showy flowers are everywhere in our landscapes:  bordering our streets and cart paths and planted in individual yards.  My favorite is definitely the pink!
