Yesterday I went out with my camera for the first time this year! I wanted to find some sandhill cranes and I did — in two places. The first was in a pasture, but I was separated by a fence and they were pretty shy so I didn’t get any good shots.
After I left that spot, I found three wandering near a busy road. next to a pond. These guys weren’t shy at all. I got to within 10 or 12 feet of them without them paying any attention. Until, all of sudden one started walking towards me and the other two followed, I got a little worried. I’m thinking maybe they’d had enough of me and are going to attack. They are pretty big birds after all, and there were three of them and only one of me! So I start backing up and they just keep coming. So I turn around and start walking, looking over my shoulder once in a while, and they trailed me all the way around the pond. Now I’m thinking maybe we are bonding and they think I am one of the clan. Finally, they veered off and went their own way. Whew.
Anyway, after my wild birding adventure, I worked two of my photos using textures.
